Let's Talk About Saving American Democracy
HCCC's First Regional Interest Group Meeting! (SOLD OUT)
November 1 in the Orleans Center for Culture and History(CHO), 3 River Road (just off Main Street, aka Beach Road), from 2-4 pm. There is space for 20--first come, first served. Light refreshments will be provided. The ante is $10 payable in advance.
This topic is the one of most interest to our members as indicated by the responses to the HCCC August survey seeking suggestions (click here for survey results). The roundtable discussion will be facilitated by Gail Garfield, member of the HCCC Executive Committee. Gail's career in public policy, representing first the public and then the private sector, spanned a wide range of concerns, and her education included government, economics, international affairs, and urban development. She is the author of several books including The Work Revolution (1984), which predicted the changes that technology and globalization have wrought in our society.
There is no homework required to attend this meeting! Please note, however, that this is an academic undertaking: we will be exploring facts, causes, and possibilities without engaging in partisan politics. We look forward to a relaxed and lively conversation, notable for respectful listening.
