Do Give it a Thought - your feedback and HCCC Response
In August we surveyed you for ideas about a new type of Club event - small-group, locally organized, in-person conversations about ideas, innovations and big picture publlic issues. We had a small(25), but geographically diverse group of responses that grouped into three themes:
- Saving democracy including constitutional changes and the nature of patriotism
- Aging well including widow(er)hood and personal mental health
- Foreign affairs including the nature of war
We are excited to launch our first regional event on saving democracy in Orleans. (See upcoming events.) Planing is underway for a second small group session on democracy in the Upper Cape.
Early in 2023, we plan on hosting two small group discussions in the Upper and Lower Cape regions on healthy aging with Roger Landry, our speaker for the October 20 event. More details about these will be posted later this fall.
While these small group discussions will be most attractive to those who live nearby, and we hope participants will decide to continue their small group discussions, all are welcome. These events do not replace our Cape-wide speaker/luncheon and social events - they are intended to give you more opportunities to engage with the incredible diversity and interests of our fellow alums.
