Who are we?

Almost 2000 Harvard alumni live in the region of Cape Cod and the Islands. Of that number about 300 are members of the Harvard Club of Cape Cod. They are past students or instructors from Harvard College, the Harvard graduate schools across Cambridge and surrounds, or Radcliffe College. The number also includes about 20 associate members, that is, spouses of alumni, and five who are current students or recent graduates who have served as summer Fellows on the Cape.  A list of deceased members can be found here.

The membership of the Club collectively represents a wide range of professional capabilities, interest in the creative arts, community service and philanthropy, and life experience. Members have played active roles in business, education, law, the many branches of medicine, the sciences, ministry, technology, government, the foreign service, and the visual and musical arts. In general, they like stimulating ideas and the opportunity to continue learning in a social context.

The members range in age from 30-something to 90-something. The average age of all regional alumni is 66 yrs, of members 70, and of new members 63. Once members join the Club, these figures suggest that members tend to stay, enjoying the benefits of membership.

About 30% of Club members contribute to the Summer Fellowship Fund to support students who undertake community service projects as an application of their in-class learning on the Cape over summer.
