Patricia Deyton, KSGEE ’98
Management, Women in Leadership, Teaching and Administration
Over many years, Patricia’s professional life has intersected several ways with Harvard. Her first connection was as an instructor at Radcliffe where she developed and taught “Leading and Managing Effective Nonprofit Organizations”. When Radcliffe made its final course transition to Harvard, she was invited to teach this course at the Harvard Extension School, which continues to this day. She developed and taught another course at the Extension School, “Gender, Leadership and Management”. She is an alumna of the Kennedy School Executive Education Program where she helped develop and participated in a two-week custom program for executives in the American Red Cross. She also worked at the Kennedy School as the Executive Director of the Council of Women World Leaders, an international nonprofit that was based there for several years.
Patricia’ career has spanned the nonprofit sector and the academic sector with positions as CEO, Executive Director, Research Center Director, Professor of Practice faculty, and Associate Dean. She continues teaching at the Extension School and is actively engaged in volunteer work including Senior Advisor with the Council of Women World Leaders, President of the Red Lily Pond Project Association and as an officer of the Town of Barnstable Democrat Committee.
Patricia and her husband have lived full time in Craigville Village since 2011. She is studying classical piano at the Cape Cod Conservatory and learning Swedish. Other interests include cooking, gardening, reading and, of course, enjoying the beautiful place in which we live.
