Recognition of Summer Fellowshps Interns / Donors
August 8, 2025 at Kings Way in Yarmouth Port
More than 40 HCCC members gathered at The Kings Way Meetinghouse in Yarmouth Port on August 8 to honor our two Cape Cod Summer Fellows, their host institutions, and our members who also donated to the Fellowship Program each year.
Emma Vrabel ’25 was the co-founder and President of the Harvard Undergraduate Disability Justice Club. She spoke of her internship at the JFK Museum in Hyannis, highlighting her work toward planned initiatives to make the museum more accessible for guests of all ability levels. She was happy to answer several questions about her work at the museum.
Summer Fellow Grace Yoon ’27 spoke about her experience at The Provincetown Independent’s non-profit Local Journalism Project, writing solid news and feature articles important to people on the Outer Cape. She spoke, for example, about the importance of writing obituaries that tell the unique stories of the deceased.
Teresa Parker, publisher of The Provincetown Independent, highlighted the experience and professionalism of Grace and Sam Church, the other Harvard student who spent the summer writing for the paper. (Sam also was our guest at the reception.) Both students are reporters for The Harvard Crimson and are passionate about their work as journalists. Teresa Parker noted how difficult it will be to replace Grace on an important project she was working on.
HCCC president Eldon Ziegler expressed the Club’s gratitude to the donors who make our Fellowship Program possible and noted how reaffirming it is to realize the impact these students made on their host institutions and the greater Cape Cod community. Eldon offered special recognition to ExComm members Anne Tupper, who has managed this program so effectively over the past several years, and Blue Magruder for organizing the refreshments for this event.
