Robert Dowd graduated with honors from Harvard University, Boston College Law School and obtained a Master of Laws in Taxation from Boston University. Robert Dowd has been practicing law in Texas and Massachusetts--Federal, State and U.S. Tax Courts--specializing in Estate Planning, Lawsuit Protection, Taxation and Creation of Trusts used to transfer and manage property and assets. In addition, he has been Outside General Counsel for a national solar energy company and for the past twenty-five years attorney for Christ the King Church and School in Dallas. Previously, he was a Senior Trial Attorney for the IRS Chief Counsel Office and assigned cases of Spiro Agnew, 39th Vice President of the United States; Marvin Mandel, former Governor of Maryland, the Korean Central Intelligence Agency and numerous multiple million-dollar cases representing the IRS. For the past 25 years, he has been representing private clients before the IRS, structuring business operations, and Estate Planning. He is a member in good standing with the Dallas Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers (State Bar Association of Massachusetts). He was a former member of The Board of Trustees Boston Latin School, former member of Board of Directors at Shelton School of Dallas, former Trustee Harvard Athletics Texas, and former Chairman of the Dallas Harvard Schools Committee. He has lectured at numerous organizations throughout the country about Business Structures, Asset Protection and Estate Planning and has published articles in his field.
Robert was an All-Ivy Tackle on the Harvard Team and teammate of Oscar winning actor Tommy Lee Jones. Both played in the famous Harvard Yale game in 1968 that became a documentary shown nationwide entitled “Harvard Beats Yale 29-29".
Robert is looking to spend more time on the Cape. He has restored the Nursing Home back to the whaling Captain Crocker House, National Historic Home located at 229 Old Main Street, Barnstable.
