The United States : War, Inflation, Deficits and Debt

Dr. Richard Vietor at HCCC Annual Meeting

The nearly sixty club members and guests gathered at the Doubletree Hotel to hear Harvard’s Baker Foundation Professor of Business Administration were not disappointed. Prior to the presentation, they were able to view the photos and books of creative HCCC members, followed by another fine meal. Professor Vietor’s most informative presentation last year on the international economy was a powerful prelude to this session on the domestic economy.

This presentation was enlightening and comprehensive, albeit sobering. Members’ concern was expressed in a hard-hitting Q&A session which frankly discussed the current negative direction of the US economy. Shows of popular discontent, a turn-around election, or a possible stabilization, offer hope for avoiding some of the potential serious consequences of the current political-economic picture.

Professor Vietor’s presentation can be found on the HCCC Virtual Channel on YouTube or you can view/download it in Dropbox.
