Edward Gorey Museum Visit

Get Together and Post-Event Description.

On September 17, seventeen inquisitive members, alums and guests gathered in Yarmouth Port to learn more about Edward Gorey--American writer, Tony Award-winning costume designer, and artist. 
 

Beginning with breakfast at Jack’s Outback, Gorey’s favorite restaurant, the group then reconvened a short distance away at his home, now the Edward Gorey Museum. The Museum’s Director, Gregory, treated us to a tour filled with numerous and colorful back stories of the artist’s life in New York and Cape Cod. 
 

Eccentric and talented, Edward Gorey was a collector extraordinaire, and the group was able to view his unique taste for the unusual.  This was a most enlightening tour, and we thank Board Member, John Cooper, for making this happen.
