Artificial Intelligence - Existential Threat or Answer to Our Prayers?
October 4, 2024 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM at Alberto's Ristorante in Hyannis.
In the year and a half since generative AI became widely available, ChatGPT, Copilot, Bard, and other chatbots have captured our curiosity, imagination, and fears. What can AI really do? What does it mean for humanity? How can we use it for good? Heck, how can we use it to make our own lives easier?
Our speaker for this joint MIT / Harvard meeting is Professor Patricia Allen (Trish), who will explore these questions and more in an interactive discussion. She first became interested in Artificial Intelligence when students in her literature classes at Cape Cod Community College started using ChatGPT to research their writing assignments, and she immediately realized that this new technology will have a huge impact on how students will learn, how teachers will teach, and how it will impact many other professions as well going forward. In case you haven't had any experience with chatbots yet, Trish - who is now a ChatGPT power user - will start off with a demonstration of some of its amazing abilities before leading the interactive discussion.
The cost for this event is $40.00.
