History and Tour
Eighteen members and guests joined member Greg Mills for a visit to Falmouth’s Nobska Lighthouse. The Friends of Nobska Light hosted us for a most enlightening history and tour of the nearly 200 year old facility and nearly 150 year-old lighthouse and keeper’s house. We were treated to spectacular views, and the privilege of climbing the spiral stairs to the lightroom to see the Fresnel lens. We were all so impressed with the reverence with which our guides spoke of the lighthouse.
Following the tour, we reconvened at Leeside Pub in Woods Hole for a lunch and enthusiastic conversation. Attendees traveled from as far as Orleans and Martha’s Vineyard for the event which also attracted first-time event attendees. We thank Greg Mills for his expert arrangement of this event.
