Mass Audubon Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary, Barnstable
Golden Jalapeño Tex Mex Restaurant, Yarmouth Port
HCCC VP of Technology, Peter Bono, will lead a bird walk for beginner/intermediate birders/nature enthusiasts. Peter is Past President of the Cape Cod Bird Club and has travelled the world in search of birds.
We will meet at 8:30 am in the parking lot of the Mass Audubon Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary in Barnstable. This is the main parking lot off Bone Hill Road near its Nature Center and not the small parking lot on Bone Hill Road adjacent to a field. We will look for resident birds like sparrows and finches and returning migrants from the South like orioles, vireos, and warblers.
At noon, we will drive a short distance to the Golden Jalapeño Tex Mex Restaurant, 134 Route 6A in Yarmouth Port. You will order off their menu and pay your own bill.
The cost of the event is $15.00 and participation is limited to 17 people. Your fee will cover admission and a donation to the Sanctuary. IMPORTANT: Bring your own binoculars. Heavy rain cancels. Send a SMS message (text) to Peter at 774-487-2848 if you have questions.
