Estelle Jorgensen

Dr. Estelle Jorgensen earned her PhD from the University of Calgary, Canada and is currently Professor Emerita of Music (Music Education) Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Named a Senior Scholar by the National Association for Music Education, she is the author of six books on the philosophy of music education. Founder of the Philosophy of Music Education Special Research Group, founding co-chair of the International Society for Music Education, and founding Editor of the Philosophy of Music Education Review, now in its 32nd year, she has led and contributed to international symposia around he world. She is presently completing another book, Music Educational Sins Redeemed. She is married to Iris Yob (Ed.D ’90, Harvard).
