An Afternoon of Mammal Communication

Over 60 people, HCCC members, members of other Cape Clubs and guests gathered on the lovely Quissett Campus of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in the late afternoon and evening of August 16 to hear world-class science about dolphins.  Dr. Laela Sayigh, a WHOI research scientist and MIT/WHOI program degree holder, spoke to an engaged audience on marine mammal, specifically dolphin, communication.  Prior to the fascinating presentation, the human mammals gathered for drinks and bites and much of their own communication, all with a stunning view of Vineyard Sound.  The attendees also heard an overview of WHOI, the largest independent oceanographic research and education center in the world.
