Ars Veritas In Provincetown

Thursday, September 14, 2023, 3:30 to 6 pm

Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM)

PAAMTour the current exhibitions of the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) with CEO Christine McCarthy and learn about the history of the oldest continuous art colony in America. As we walk through this unique and fascinating museum, Christine will share the history, characters, culture and world-class art that has made Provincetown “a starting point for many important American artists and acting as a bridge to New York City for many artists and artistic movements.” The guided tour will be about one hour followed by an opportunity to engage in dialogue with Christine and view the current exhibitions at our leisure.

Note: We will gather at the museum at 3:30 PM for soft drinks and social time prior to the tour. The fee is $20/person, and there is no on-site parking, but there is street parking and a paid lot a couple of blocks away.

Ride Sharing: We assume there will be members who will want to attend this fun and interesting event but might not want to drive all the way out to Provincetown and back in the early evening.  For these individuals, we will provide a ride-sharing option.  We will gather in the parking lot of the Doubletree Hilton Hotel at 287 Iyannough Road in Hyannis at 2 PM. We will depart from the Doubletree at 2:15 PM and return immediately following the museum event.

Christine McCarthy Profile: Christine has been CEO of Provincetown Art Association & Museum (PAAM) for 22 years, and during that time she has spearheaded a major shift for the organization, moving it from a small community art association to a bona fide fine art museum people travel from all over to visit. She is known to have made impressive decisions over the years and is widely respected for her vision for PAAM. She frequently speaks at public events regarding the history of the Provincetown art colony in general as well as the history and future plans for PAAM.
