Harvard College Accepts 5 from the Cape and Islands into the Class of 2027
Every year VP of Education, Rufus Peebles, oversees a process for Cape alumni to interview a group of high school applicants to Harvard, an important and formal part of the admissions process.
This year there were 57 applicants from the Cape and Islands of which 5 were accepted--an 8.8% acceptance rate compared to 3.4% for the entire pool of applicants to Harvard, which was the 2nd lowest overall acceptance rate in history. The students attended Barnstable High School and Nauset, Monomoy, and Martha's Vineyard Regional High Schools.
Thanks to the following alumni who interviewed students over the past two years: recent graduates Braeden Foldenauer and Fernando Young, and William Powers, Peter Panchy, Tom Dingman, Walter North, Ed Miller, Andrea Silbert, Annamaria Dooley, John Cooper, and Jacob Khan.
