CC has recently introduced a new type of event - just an opportunity for club members and other Harvard alums to get to know each other and experience the incredible diversity of interests among the 1,000+ alums who live on Cape Cod full or part-time. Solid research, much from Harvard, shows that those who stay connected are 2-5 times less likely to experience heart disease, cancer or dementia. So come for your health but mainly to enjoy yourself with colleagues.
Monday, July 31st, was our second Veritas Social gathering and called Cinema Veritas. We met at the Scargo Cafe in Dennis (799 Main St) for a meal with 20 people at 11:30 am, followed by a 1 ½ hr movie/exhibition at 1:30 pm, "The Artist’s Garden: American Impressionism," at the Cape Cinema across the street from Scargo’s. We ordered our meals off the menu and self-paid.
