Denise Murray Edwards, MTS '87
Mental Health Nurse Practicioner
Denise is a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who taught in several academic settings before attending Harvard Divinity School to pursue her interest in access to health care and health equity. After graduating, she taught medical ethics, served on the National VA Ethics Committee developing policy for patient autonomy and end of life care and began volunteering in Africa with Empower Tanzania, Inc focusing on living with Aids, safe motherhood and public health issues.
Denise is a Vietnam era service veteran. As a Navy Nurse, she was in charge of a surgical air-vac unit. During her time on Cape Cod, she enjoys volunteering with Hospice, reading, courtyard gardening, folk singing and almost any kind of live music.
